When engaging the clutch on piston engine helicopters, such as the default Robinson R22, there is a grinding noise and then the engine quits. This has been a bug since FSX SP2. It would be great if there was a workaround or fix in a future version of Prepar3D.

In previous versions of Prepar3D we implemented a feature called ExternalSim which allowed developers to incorporate their own flight models into Prepar3D. In future versions we are expanding on this philosophy by giving developers even more power and control over the inner workings of their vehicles and SimObjects. In short, we don't plan on fixing any legacy issues with the legacy helicopter model at this time, but are anxiously creating new means and methods where future content creators will be able to build and model their helicopters in any way they wish and have full control over the simulations.

It's great that you guys are doing that, but I was hoping that this one small issue could at least be fixed so that those existing helicopters are at least completely functional. The issue is related to the functionality (operation of the aircraft) more than anything.
