I recently had a loss of the MBR on my PC and as a result had to resort to reinstalling everything. I have yet to get around to P3D, but with the imminent arrival of version 1.4 I am wondering, should I go ahead and install 1.3 and apply the 1.4 upgrade, or is 1.4 the whole deal and should I d/l the whole thing and just install that?

Hi Canuck,

Prepar3D 1.4 will require a full download (approximately 10 GB again). There will be no upgrade patch for this release. We are looking to augment that in future versions, but due to various circumstances in Prepar3D 1.X we have be unable to release update patches. Updating from a previous version 1.X to version 1.4 will not require the license to be reactivated.

sorry to say that Lockheed's latest installation guidance reads a bit "scholarly" for simple FS-pilots... . it is August 20th, 21.00 pm central european time now and, as far as I can see, the short-hand answer to the question re. installability of 1.4 over 1.3 without danger for external addons (planes, scenery) is still outstanding - of course none of us is in a hurry but it would be nice if etc etc :-)
In the meantime, many congratulations Lockheed on this milestone, may many follow!
