Post [RESOLVED]Host session
on: August 16, 2012, 11:44

Hello everybody,

I've Prepar3d version 1.3 (developer).

I don't see any multiplayer session in the list. It's empty.

I host my public multiplayer session. It seems okay.
But my friends can't connect my host session.
we stopped firewall to retry, we can't.

I tried to unlock ports : 6112 - 6122. Is it enough?
What is the solution ? Thanks.

Regards,

Chris.

Thanks for these reply.

I unlocked these ports but I can't read sessions
And my friend (has also P3D) can't see my host again.

I think these ports are for FSX and Gamespy.

I read on learning center of P3D, it seems the P3D multiplayer is for LAN only (local network), not for WAN (internet) ?
That's right ?
Is There no solution to host to internet ?
Chris.

No, you can multiplay either LAN or Wan
A test session is up and running for you (or your friend)
Use connect directly 88.159.161.187

Okay, I tried to connect to your host. It works!

Thank you for the test, janvaane.

I have to configure my router correctly.

Chris.

Hi all,

I created P3D Host session, here is : 83.197.83.144

I opened other ports from 49000 to 59000. P3D seems use these UDP ports.
Also :
uPnP ON
6112-6122
2300-2400
6073
23456

Good test, hope it works.

Hi Chris: result unable to connect
the other udp 's are auto pushed by the Upnp; dont force to open
please test your connection by speedtest.net; upload must be 3MB+

Okay for uPnp,
So if I understand, my upload must be 3MB or more ?? Really?
I tested in speedtest.net, Download : 4Mbps and Upload : 0.41Mbps
So, I can't really host in P3D ? Bad news.

I have dedicated server with 100MBps, Is it possible? I must install P3D I presume.

Chris.

Correct, you need approx 100-150kB for each session you host . In your case you can host (with an A-type connection) at most 3-4 clients.
That's the reason you can be client at my host session (100MB), but not vica versa.
When ever you had 1 GB server....you dont have more than bandwidth (0.41) at your service.
Sorry to have no better message.
