Post ntdll.dll
on: August 8, 2012, 20:31

Since I've installed the latest FSUIPC version (4.84), P3D has shown better stability. I'm still getting Fatal Errors, but now most of them seem to be due to ntdll.dll or menus.dll. By reading threads in the forum, I understand the problem with menus.dll. But, could someone explain the purpose of the ntdll.dll file? Maybe I can better understand what's going on or how to avoid it. Thanks in advance.

Hi sirpres,

ntdll.dll is a Windows system file, explicitly tied to the operating system and how it interacts with various bits and peices of your installaion. It is NOT a LM or P3d file.

You may see this error when you are overclocking your PC too much or if you have corrupted data on your disk.

1. Downclock if you are overclocking and see of they go away.
2. disk check your disk.
3. If it is corrupt, fix it and re-install P3d

Thanks for the information Jake. Well, I'm not computer savvy enough to overclock my PC. I would be afraid to anyway (might break something) :-) So, I will run disk check and Windows file checker and see what happens.

I am not entirely sure, but you could try and update DirectX.

Yes, I have updated to 1.4 and DirectX is current. I've flown several missions without any Fatal Errors or crashes.... until today. One terrains.dll and one ntdll.dll. I'll have see what I did differently.
