Post Failed to launch
on: August 2, 2012, 12:18

I tried to start P3D last night and nothing happened so I traced an error to the following module>

C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\MSVCR80.dll

It looks like the "Prepar3D.exe" file was the last one accessed before it stopped. Could it somehow have become corrupted and caused the error?

Has anyone encountered or know about this and is there a fix?

Thanks!

Thats very odd. Mine has never done that.

Once it did stop working, stating it had an issue with my license, and then it was fine when I rebooted. Im on the montly Dev payment plan though, so that can happen, I am sure, with the revolving payment system.

Hey Bill...

I'm using Academic so I hope they didn't cut me off :-)

I went through and checked forum postings for any problems with P3D .dll's and it finally occurred to me to just try a repair installation a little while ago. That did the trick!

I still don't know what broke but at least it's working again though I need to re-do all of my controller assignments which I suppose is better than a complete reinstall :-)

Run Windows Update to see if MS Visual C++ is up to date

Program won't launch error 42, could not initialize application.
Says I don't have a key.
BUT, I do have a key there is no request for the key at launch time.
This is worse than Win 3.1.
WHY did you release this program before it was ready function properly?
I have spent most of the day on this.
A great $200.00 investment. NOT!
A very unhappy customer!!!
JB

I have FSX on my computer and I FINALLY was able to download ALL 3 parts of Prepar3d.
Next I was able to open all 3 the ZIP files.
Then, I opened the files that were unzipped in 1 and 2.
When I opened the .exe file in ZIP file 3 I got the message ERROR 1311 Source File Not found.
My online search led me to many programs that alleged that their product would solve this problem but many I have determined to be SCAMS.
HOW, can I resolve this conflict?
Thanks,
Jim
