Hi Mac,

Thank you very much for posting this question, as you have prompted me to install the PC-12 into Prepar3D, something I haven't really thought of doing, as I spend most of my time in Prepar3D flying the PMDG 737 NGX and the Carenado PA46T. And yes, I can report that the aircraft appears to be fully functional, the GPS works just fine too, as do the pop-up panels of the various instruments:

I went for a short flight around Zurich, everything appears to be working normally.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone would actually develop the latest NG version of the PC-12:

Actually one of my best ever real world flights was in a PC-12 from Naples, Florida, to Washington DC.

Cheers,

Jerome

Hey Jerome, this is very good news, thanks very much. The PC12 is widely used in Aus and a company with which I have links own one. It is my ambition to sit in the right hand seat before much longer so being able to practice with P3D first will be just great. Thanks again.

G'day John, I am afraid we shall have to wait for Jerome to return to answer this as my DVD only arrived a couple of days back and I have not yet installed. Having said that, are you trying to install on the same drive as FSX? I ask because sometimes it is necessary to fool the installer into believing that FSX is somewhere else. Given the recent track record of the Flight1 attitude to P3D this may well be the case here.

Good morning John,

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing some hiccups. I have Prepar3D setup with symbolic links, these are also known as an MLINK. Basically an MLINK makes any FSX installer believe that the software is being installed into FSX, when in reality it is being installed into the Prepar3D directory.

If you need any help with this let me know, and I'll run you through the necessary steps to set this up on your computer.

Best regards,

Jerome

Hey Jerome, this is very good news and just could be the "magic bullet" that many of us are looking for. The people over at Orbx will be very happy if it will work for their scenery installations. Please, more info on MLINK.

PS: Thanks to you I have just found this LINK, Jerome. Is this what you are referring to? if so a short tutorial would be great..

I could install the PC12 ok but the upgrades are failing due to not pointing to FSX, so i woulld be great if we could have the syntax of the mklink. Thankyou
Jorge

Jan, I think we need a symbolic link in this case, not a hard link as in your explanation. We do not want to move anything. In which case I believe we would use the "d" switch not the "j".

What is the creation date of your gauges: F1PC12.gau and pc12dll.gau.

Hi Mac,

Sorry, I've been very busy and haven't had time to look back at this thread any sooner. I'll try to post a mini-tutorial on Thursday during the day, as to how you can setup Prepar3D with the MLINK I mentioned...there are several of these that point to various directories and files (including normally hidden ones). More info during the day tomorrow.....

Best regards,

Jerome

Thank you Jerome, we are very much looking forward to learning how to use MLINK. I think it might overcome several installation problems.
