Post Business jet for P3D
on: July 6, 2012, 09:21

Been flying Prepar3d in my Carenado planes and REX for some time now and I am very impressed with my upgrade from FSX.

I have the FSX Flight 1 citation mustang that does not work in P3D and I am thinking of getting a nice bussiness jet to use in P3D but can not find any P3D ready planes out there.

Any recommendation or suggestions. I am thinking of getting the Eaglesoft Cessna Citation X Extreme 2.0. Does any one have some experience with porting this aircraft?

Thanks.
Pine

Tried the FSND FSX Citation X and it looks like a nice model but the flight dynamics does not seem to be correct. Maintains a very high speed even at idle and will not stall.

I was part of the team that created the Eaglesoft Citation X v2... and no it will not function within Prepar3D. That was intentional as it's an entertainment product only and it's pricing is set accordingly.

Thanks WarpD. A pity that this is Eaglesoft's approach as I believe there is a real market for recreational users of the P3D product but I respect your stance.

Looks like the LIONHEART - EPIC VICTORY VLJ is marketed as a P3D product, Anyone using it??

I use the Epic and it performs excellently. A good choice when you want to get from point A to B in hurry. It responds well when landing as well.

Ok... look at it this way: Prepar3D didn't exist when the Citation was released, instead there was the precursor of Microsoft's ESP. There was absolutely no way to ensure the Citation product wasn't being used for commercial training products without blocking it from running inside of ESP itself.

The same issue arises for Prepar3D... there's no way to ensure the product isn't being used for commercial training products. I don't think companies that sell AATD's for tens of thousands of dollars should be able to pay Eaglesoft $50 for their Citation and walk away. Do you?

WarpD. Like I stated, I respect your stance and I appreciate the fact that you informed me that the Eaglesoft products are designed not to work with ESP / P3D. I really enjoyed flying the Eaglesoft Raytheon 400 XP, Premier1 and DA42 in the past on FS9 and FSX but now I will unfortunately have to spend my $50 with developers that see the opportunity and not the threat.

BTW. I purchased the Epic Victory and although it shows it age and has some minor published issues (like steering on the runway) it is a great looking, framerate friendly, model and flies very nicely. Thanks Rolfspan.

Every bizjet from Eaglesoft will work in Prepar3D except the Citation X v2.0.

No.

Isn't that up to you to prosecute the companies for violating your EULA?

Penalising your loyal customers because of something somebody else did hardly seems like good business practice. ;)

The cost of said 'prosecution', which would actually be a lawsuit and absurdly expensive for a very small addon firm to chase a million dollar plus corporation in court... yeah, that's not gonna happen.

So, it's protected the way it is because it's pretty much the only recourse available.

It doesn't cost you a cent to win.

But it's your decision. Good luck!

Closing this thread, this is not the forum or place to debate EULAs, or legal decisions or ramifications.

It is widely known that some products are licensed NOT to be used in Prepar3D, and we cannot harbor discussions on how to work around or directly violate those licenses on these forums.

Thanks for your understanding.
