For developers that didnt know, Ive discovered that we can have P3D running while working on gauges, including their textures.

Pretty nice!

Setup 'reload users aircraft' in keyboard with something like 'Shift / Control / R' (for reload) and when you make changes to gauge code or gauge textures, just alt / tab over to P3, reload the plane, and check the mods.

CTRL+semicolon, just as in fsx

No, that is a complete "reload saved flight." Not the same thing at all! What Bill suggests is something I have been using for years now, first with FSX and now with P3D. It only reloads the XML gauges, refreshes textures (most of the time), and reloads all .dll files...

...without resetting the entire flight, which you may not want to do if you happen to be airborne and tweaking the calibration of -say- the airspeed indicator, VSI, attitude or HSI... :o

Or, if you're a modeler, you can quickly check out a new (partial) build of your .max or .gmax mesh in the sim! This is especially handy for me as I do my dev work on the 'puter here in my front office, then compile across the network to my sim test 'puter in the next room. By the time it finishes compiling, I'm in the other room ready to hit Ctrl-Shift-R and see if the latest bit of work was successful. 8-)

Thanks guys. Thats a very usefull bit of info. All those yrs I've been reloading the complete model after making a small change! I used FSUIPC to program a button to perform the reload as I have the Sim controls disabled.

Thanks Again!

Something to take note of with this function... You should turn off all AI traffic when using this, as certain data are cached and shared. If there is another instance of the aircraft loaded than the on-disk data may not be loaded.
