Post FSX Addons to Prepar3D
on: June 12, 2012, 16:28

Hi People,

I've written a small software that help for fsx addons setup to Prepar3D. if you're interested you can download here
it s a freeware software.

v1.1 http://www.sahince.com/downloads/viewdownload/13-tools/8-fsxtop3d-v11.html
v1.0 http://www.sahince.com/downloads/viewdownload/13-tools/5-fsxtop3d.html

To install any FSX addon on Prepar3D it will be sufficient to fulfill the following 3 steps.

Run the software as administrator.

1- Click on the button "FSX Addons-setup Enable for Prepar3D"
2- Run an Addon-setup and make no changes during this setup.
3- Click on the button "FSX Addons-setup Disable for Prepar3D".Don't forget this step!

Cheers

Hi,

Looks like a very nice solution to 'fooling' the installer to point at P3D...

In my case your program found the directory paths perfectly. I tested it with a simple aircraft installer and it worked just fine.

Could I ask a few questions?

When I decide to uninstall the addon from P3D, should I have your program in the 'Enabled' status?

There are FSX addons that 'alias' specific files / folders with FSX directory line. Can you be sure these will work in P3D?

Has the program been tested by installing the more complicated FSX addons such as A2A AccuSim aircraft etc?

I'm not familiar with the operation of FSX to P3D, so may I suggest including some simple explanation of how the software works? This would give users more confidence in the program.

Best regards,

Dave.

On 13-06-2012 21:50 (GMT+1) the software is updated and tested on Windows XP + Windows 7 64Bit, now works with Windows XP and 32Bit sytems.

1- Yes, if you want to uninstall any FSX Addon from P3D then you must change the status of FSXtoP3D to Enabled.

2- If the FSX Addon constantly needs real FSX folders to work then you must change the status of FSXtoP3D to Enabled during the usage of that Addon.

3- I Have PMDG is installed on Prepar3D with this program with no problems.

Even if you do not have FSX you can still install any FSX-Addon to Prepar3D, in this case leave the status always on Enabled.

I am sorry but I can get this to work. Please note that I have FSX and P3D on two different drives on the same computer. I can not get past this screen. I have been clicking on "FSX Addons-setup Enable for Prepar3D" and I have been running as Administrator.

Hi Mac,
if your P3D and fsx on different drivers that's no problem. must be able to work.

P.S: On 14-06-2012 13:05 (GMT+1) the FSXtoP3D software is updated, you can re-download.
