So who at LM is the flamin' comedian who set the rudder pedals on the default aircraft in P3D so that it turns in ever diminishing circles anti-clockwise until you know where it finishes up.. Took me half an hour to figure that one out. :D :D

..that's why in real aircraft there's no Y-button on the panel...

This one really has me tossed. I have got the Saitek Multi panel and Switches working using the SPAD driver but the Yoke is a different matter. I do not seem to able to set up in P3D so that I can control the rudder. No matter which aircraft I fly the left pedal in the VC is pushed to the floor so of course the aircraft spins anti-clockwise in the horizontal plane.

P3D has four axis (Ailerons; Elevator; Throttle; Rudder) but I only have three levers. Is this my problem? There is also the option to select "Use Simple Control" but that does not seem to have any effect.. I simply cannot get the aircraft to move in a straight line.

PS: The Auto Rudder is checked

[SOLVED] A friend showed me how to adjust the prepar3d.cfg file. Thanks.

I would love to. I think he simply replaced my prepar3d.cfg with my fsx.cfg This is NOT the answer I wanted but at least I can taxi in a straight line now. However, the left pedal is still on the floor when I open P3D and I can not find out why.

My problem is really: Am I the only one seeing this or is it endemic and due to be sorted in an upgrade later?

The event can be recalled by where as the Enable Controller(s) check box is checked in combination with FSUIPC standard Axes control (as in Profile specific unchecked)
In my case: Throttle is activated for 2000 rpm
press left toe brake, will throttle up to 2500 rpm; rudder axis of saitek regulates throttle
checked FSUIPC:
.rudder axis is assigned to axes mixture set; left toe brake is assigned as throttle set (assignment is random...)
.left brakes and right brakes are activated through FSUIPC with 4128 In and16384 Out (meaning full breaks on using Saitek rudder pedals.
Pushing the rudder pedals instruct FSUIPC to the range of -4128 until +4128 brakes are on 4128 IN and OUT >> brakes are on...
Conclusion: [as per comments of Pete July 10, 2012, 08:40]:
P3D (and not FSUIPC) link new attached hardware to the default of P3D which will conflict when the Enable Controller(s) check box remains checked, with already registered assignments in FSUIPC .

In the sim: Uncheck the check box Enable controller(s), calibrate the hardware, assign the relevant axis in FSUIPC, problem solved. In the worst case rebuild the cfg file pressing CTRL+CAPSLOCK when firing up the sim and hold until the sim is in cockpit view.

Thanks Jan. I do not understand all this but I think I get the message. Will investigate and report back.

I am now convinced, although I cannot prove, that this was a sticky Aileron axis problem in the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke. It went at about the time I installed the SPAD drivers but there is no way I can see how they could have caused or cured the problem Anyway my aircraft is no longer heading off for the nearest patch of scrub as soon as I get into the cockpit. I nearly developed a complex. LOL

Quote from janvaane on June 12, 2012, 09:39
Conclusion: FSUIPC assignes randomly new attached axes to any type of action required to the non Profile specific state

That is simply not true! FSUIPC never assigns anything automatically. It only ever obeys settings made by the user. Axis assignment in FSUIPC is completely optional, and need not even be used if you only want to calibrate and map axes.

FSX and, no doubt, Prepar3D, will automatically assign devices recognised as newly attached unless it has all game controllers disabled.

You're right Pete. In a FSUIPC-ini with the Non profile axis assigned to the related function, P3D disturbs when the Enable controller check box remains checked. The thing is that P3D has "strange" defaults for new attached hardware.
Rudder pedal, TQ, Yoke and TPM assign default to Ailerons (x), Elevator (Y), Rudder (axis 6) en Throttle (Z)

I have rephrased in the original post.

Thanks for correcting me.

and I no longer have the problem since upgrading to the latest FSUIPC Version 4.827 as Pete advised me to do. Many thanks
