Post Mooney Update for Prepar3D

* Latest update! Paint day! New colors.

These are 'work in progress' screenshots of the 'new' Prepar3D Mooney. This is an 'update' of the present Mooney. It is custom built, by Lionheart Creations. This is to be a high detail model, and as you can see, nothing was spared in richness of model mesh work.

The model chosen is the Mooney Acclaim, version M20T, the latest version of the Mooney line, and their flagship of the Mooney series, capable of 247 knots, and cruise at 237 knots KTAS at altitude with new aerodynamic features.

Some new paint schemes added to the package. The light blue version is experimental, non factory, but a similar color with Mooney's in the past. Sort of a retro look.

Newest cockpit screenshots of the work in progress so far. Night lighting illumination, shading and highlights of cockpit textures, finishing up of the instrument panel. Getting close... Bump mapping needed and a pilot figure.

Is this the old FSX Mooney, P3D one, the Carenado one or your own creation Bill?

Hey guys,

This is completely new, ground up, for Prepar3D. This will be the replacement of the present FSX / Prepar3D Mooney. The model will now be the Acclaim, flagship of the Mooney series.

I think (if I remember correctly) that this ole girl (the original) was from FS2002 days. She needs an overhaul. ;)

Got her in P3D yesterday, flying around.

Much more to do.
* Landing gear and gear bays/doors
* Panel
* Map and painting
* AFM programming

Panel now in, most of instrumentation working, landing gear now functioning.

Paint not yet applied, fuselage and wings not yet mapped, interior not yet mapped. Still making detail parts and working on instrumentation.

I've been checking the forums multiple times a day to see updates posted. This is continuing to look better and better! :D

I have a custom fresnel ramp and envmap that I have developed to give a similar lighting appearance to Carenado add-ons. Let me know if you're interested via PM and I will gladly share them with you. ;)

Latest screenshots of the Mooney update project, the new Acclaim model.

The exterior is almost finished, still needing its 3D bump mapping of rivets and depression ribbing. The interior will then be completed and a pilot installed. Most of the animations are complete. The airfiles have also been revamped and she flies quite nicely.

The model 'S' Acclaim will cruise at 234 Knots KTAS and with oxygen, she will fly along at 25,000 feet altitude. Amazing planes....

Getting close to completion...

Interior textures coming along. Instrument panel getting wrapped up. Night lighting and switches all working. Conversion of the gauges to modern day FSX format on mapping layouts and illumination.

Still need to do bump mapping on the skins, install a pilot, some final testing.

I dont know how many times I rebuilt those yokes. That has been the hardest thing yet to model, as well as the arm rests. The yokes look like a sleek little flying wing with arm grips coming out of them, and a hub cap like emblem structure that smoothly molds out of the top. Finding a cap texture was soooooooooooo hard to find. I never did fine a super high rez emblem for the yokes, so it is a bit fuzzy.

The panel is very down to earth and has been the same through the last couple of generations. I actually made the panel off of the blue print that is supplied in the Pilots Owners Manual, so the fuses 'should' be proper, though non-functioning, the graphics should be correct, except the bottom right one in the corner.

FUN to fly!!!! I am having a blast testing this bird. Great fun.

Another side note. She now has night lighting for gauges 'on' only at night, and you can turn on the dome light if needed, like in normal flying.
