Post Fatal error KernelBase.dll

Hello to all the Team,

Just installed yesterday Prepar3D PRO. I've no problem to run the program but when I want to change the Settings I receive a fatal error message as follow :

Problem signature:

Application Version: 1.3.3708.0
Application Timestamp: 4f516cc9
Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll

Fault Module Timestamp: 4e211319
Exception Code: e0434352
Exception Offset: 0000b9bc
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1036

Mode UAC on my machine is OFF. Program is running as Administrator.
Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 is up to date.

Any help should be very appreciated.

Best Regards

Hi Timonier,

Does it crash when you enter the settings menu or when you change a specific setting? How are you accessing it thought the menu (what menu selection)? When you say you are running as administrator, does that mean you have right clicked on the Prepar3D.exe and selected ‘run as administrator’ or that you are just signed in as an administrator account? Any add-ons or non-default models installed?

Hello Adam,

First of all thanks for your quick answer.

To answer at your questions.

No, Prepar3D crashed when I want to change a specific settings. I have access to Settings without any problem. It crashed whenever I select something in the settings and the crash appears when I click on Accept or Apply.
I always run Prepar3D on clicking run as administrator and I run Prepar3D without any add-ons (Just installed yesterday and only Prepar3D).
I've two SSD drive (Crucial M4 512GB) for two partitions (partition C for my windows 7 and some programs and partition D for FSX and P3D). I've also given the authorization (read and write) on the folder P3D.

Hello Marc
Professional version or Academic?
Since the configuration file is stored in C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D....
Move the installed folder to C:\P3D and your problem is solved (mine is...I moved from H:\ to C:\P3D)
Some tips to move an installation you can find here:

Hello Jan,

As I said in my first post I've the Professional version but the problem also occurs with the Academic version (I've buyed the two versions but I've the intention to stay only with the Professional version).

My Professional version is installed on C:\P3D. Academic version isn't installed ... of course :)

In your post of May 11, 2012, 09:50 your wrote that it is installed on D:\...? So what is it? What is installed where?
The APPCRASH is from an Academic or Pro?
Your Windows 7 is not up to date: running now OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Latest Windows update also include .Net Framework 4.0
Any invalid registry entries to delete from earlier installations?
Run the Problem Step recorder (read here: http://janvaane.org/virtualfsx/?page_id=888) to get grip of what is happening.

Jan,

Prepar3D PRO is installed on C:\P3D.
APPCRASH is from Pro Version.
Latest update made today included .Net Framework 4.0. I don't understand why I've not the same OS Version as you ? Strange. When I run my Windows update it says my W7 is up to date.
I'll check invalid registry entries and also run the problem step recorder.
I'll send you the zip file with the record via your PM.

Anyway thanks for your help. I appreciate.

Best Regards.

Anyone else sorry they invested in this unfinished piece of software. There are so many bugs and errors, I feel like a lab rat. I have given up using it.
