The forum is frustratingly S L O W, not to mention when it does load, it is lacking in basic typical forum features.

Time for an upgrade ??? -- PLEASE !!!

It does not reflect well on P3D or Lockheed to run such a slow and outdated forum.

No trouble for me. Page loads quickly.

On the other hand the application loads slowly when UTX, GEX and Orbx are installed.

Which application?; UTX, GEX and Orbx has nothing to do with the Forum.

It so far is taking over 5 minutes to load. I have I5-2500 with 8 gigs of ram. It is not hardware. Any ideas I can try?

Look with task manager and with performance tab to the disk activities which files to load (SSD or HDD?)
Check page file size , should be twice as ram
Run this tool

P3D runs in standard config with default flight < 60 sec (see my config signature) RAM sie loaded 4.2gig

This topic is about the FORUM LOAD time, was nothing to do with loading of the P3D application !!

So, back to the FORUM:

I have yet to find a way to list just UNREAD posts on this,

Each time one enters the forum, it only shows posts since you last logged in.
If last time you logged in, you did NOT read a new post, it becomes an OLD post, next time you log in. !!

One way around this is to enter the forum with linkl

http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=shownew

This will list ALL posts, in order of last post.

Yes, it is this that takes a little "processing" and causes the 30+ seconds page load .. but it is worth the wait !!

Btw...don't log off the forum and refresh the show new page.
Another browser might help...
Kick the router, checkif QoS adjustments are reserved in the router
Ping to the forum is < 150. mseconds so that should not be the case
