Post Can I change a VOR?

Hello, the frequency for the Sarasota VOR in P3d is not correct, it is 115.2 in the sim but 117.0 in reality, can I change this?

Hello PingPong,

You should be able to change this in Airport Design Editor (if I am correct). You should be able to download a freeware copy of it at http://www.fsdeveloper.com on the downloads section in the tools and utilities department. The producer of the system is at that web forum also and can help you wiith questions on it. The editor is also called ADE, and the man who makes it is Jon.

Hey Bill

Thanks for the info. I have been looking into this myself, and it looks like it's near impossible to do. Apparently each VOR frequency is embedded in a base scenery file somewhere, you have to find and extract the scenery file and change the frequency.

Changing the frequency in the airport file does not change it in the base scenery files.

Then on top of that all the scenery files are inter-related to form the airway "map" of the FSX/P3D world, so you may break some connection leading to AI and ATC going crazy.

Some guy did it by moving a native VOR, then adding a second, but I may just live with it, after going through this process I am pretty sure I will NEVER forger the frequency of the Sarasota VOR LOL.
