Hello,

I purchased P3D via the Developer route; $9.95 per month.

I have been worried about how to know when a payment is due.

Tonight, P3D quit working and will not boot up, windows saying it is gathering information.

Could it be my Dev account needs to be paid? Just curious. There was no message and no email.

Well, I got it working.

Two times, it went to reinstall, and stuck saying 'windows is gathering information.'. I had also seen, for a milisecond, the word 'repair....' something, then 'windows is gathering information. This just continued.

I then cut it off again, and this time, clicked the EXE file in the main Prepar folder and it booted up fine. So oddly, my shortcut in the main Start list has become corrupt.

I also found my license in the Customer Service section, I was good for 4 more days, purchased a new month just to make sure. Back in flight.

It would be nice though if we had a flag or email that says 'Your license is about to expire on P3D, pay up!' ;) (And if it already does, my humble apologies. All new to this fantastic sim).

That is a known issue on Windows 7 - at least known to me. The shortcut on the desktops are just pointing to the P3D folder with a nice icon. Windows then launches not P3D.exe but the something else. Then a repair is performed.

Install a manual shortcut and you're good.

P3D: is this allready known to you?

Good to know.

Oddly, the shortcut has been working all this time until just yesterday evening. I used it daily, so my thought is that something rewrote it, or?

Also, I am on WinXP 32bit.

Hi Bill,

There are actually two different types of Developer's licenses that you can get: prepaid and monthly. The prepaid license will expire after a set period of time and renewing is on the customer, the monthly will be a reoccuring automatic payment. The monthly will allow you to purchase and enter your information once and not have to worry about renewing. You can also check most of your license information here (http://www.prepar3d.com/license-information/).

The desktop shortcut not working could be due to any number of changes to the Prepar3D folder structure, usually this occurs when specfic add-ons are installed and the dlls have been changed.
